Image sensor

An image sensor is a sensor that detects and conveys the information used to create a picture. It actually converts the variable attenuation of light waves (as they pass through or reflect onto objects) into signals, small pulses of current that transmit the information.

Nowadays, every smartphone is equipped with image sensors, allowing users to have an image data acquisition tool at their fingertips at all times.
